This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 62nd Munich Security Conference, offering a unique platform for strategic dialogue.
The visit, which spanned from February 12th to 14th, 2023, was a significant diplomatic endeavor. CDF Munir interacted with a diverse range of international leaders, including Germany's Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, Foreign Policy & Security Policy Adviser Günter Sautter, and Chief of Defence Carsten Breuer. These meetings delved into contemporary security issues, bilateral defense cooperation, and the importance of fostering global peace and security through dialogue.
One of the highlights of the trip was a productive engagement with Admiral Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire, the Brazilian Armed Forces Chief of the Joint Staff. The two leaders explored avenues for bilateral military cooperation, strengthening the bonds between their nations. Additionally, Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Gen Rodolph Haykal met with Field Marshal Munir, where they discussed the global and regional security situation and strategies to enhance bilateral defense collaboration.
This international trip builds upon CDF Munir's previous diplomatic efforts. In January, he visited Switzerland, where he and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in informal meetings with Rubio and other world leaders on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting. The meetings extended to include Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and Turkish FM Hakan Fidan, showcasing the CDF's commitment to fostering international relations and addressing global security concerns.
