In a recent interview, Testament frontman Chuck Billy shared his thoughts on the use of AI in the creative process of music. While he acknowledges that AI can be a useful tool for artists, he expresses reservations about its role in the evolution of music creation. Billy highlights the increasing presence of AI in various aspects of daily life, from driverless taxis to robotic food delivery and automated warehouses. However, he draws a line when it comes to AI's involvement in the creative process of music. According to Billy, AI should be used as a tool to assist in the production and creation of music, but not as a replacement for human creativity. He believes that the essence of being an artist lies in the human element of the creative process, and he is not in favor of AI-generated music being released to the public. This stance reflects a broader debate about the role of AI in the arts and the potential implications for human creativity. Testament recently announced the U.S. leg of its 'Thrash of the Titans' world tour, which will feature the band alongside fellow thrash legends Overkill and Destruction. Their latest album, 'Para Bellum', was released in October 2025 and features the single 'Infanticide A.I.', which was accompanied by an official music video directed by Joey Durango. The album was recorded with Juan Urteaga and mixed for the first time by Jens Bogren, with the cover art once again painted by Eliran Kantor.
