According to a recent report, ACS, a Spanish construction company, is on the verge of finalizing a $27 billion data center deal with BlackRock's Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP). The partnership aims to develop data centers, with GIP acquiring a 50% stake in ACS Digital & Energy, valued at 5 billion euros in equity and 18 billion euros in debt. This move comes at a time when the demand for AI computing is skyrocketing, driving valuations for digital infrastructure to unprecedented heights. ACS had initially targeted a valuation of between 3 billion and 5 billion euros for its data center business by 2030, and this partnership would place it at the upper end of that range. The deal is expected to be announced at ACS's investor day on Friday, as the company updates its data center strategy. GIP, a global asset manager, has been actively involved in the data center industry, recently participating in a $40 billion acquisition of a U.S. data center firm alongside Microsoft and Nvidia. With major tech companies projected to spend $400 billion on AI infrastructure this year, the timing of this partnership is particularly strategic. However, ACS and GIP have not yet commented on the report, and further details are awaited.
