Over half a million people in North America use American Sign Language (ASL).  The form the second largest language group in America. This is a living language that is fun to learn.  Seeing the language on video is an excellent way to learn.  Sign Language is a language of motion, 

Each sign is explained from finger spelling to complete sentences.  If you are not able to understand the sign the first time, you can go back over the lesson and watch it again and again until it becomes a part of you.  The key to learning Sign Language is "practice, practice, practice". Deaf people appreciate a hearing person who tries to communicate in their language.

From the man on the street to the doctor in his office to the policeman, there is a need for American Sign Language.  This course is a one hour basic beginning study in sign language covering the Manual Alphabet, Conversational Signs, Signs of Assistance and Friendly Signs taught by Ray Bearden.  You are give an introduction to deafness and over ninety basic signs.  The Conversational Signs begins with such sentences as:
